The 1st Diabetes and Digital Health Conference 2024, hosted by Diabetes TeleCare, marked a historic milestone for Pakistan in advancing diabetes care through innovation and technology. The event brought together renowned international and national experts to share insights on how digital health is shaping the future of diabetes management.
The conference was widely praised by all guests, speakers, and attendees, who recognised it as the pioneer of its kind in Pakistan. Experts and thought leaders applauded Diabetes TeleCare’s efforts in bringing innovative, digital solutions to diabetes care, with a focus on early diagnosis and prevention. The discussions centred on advancing diabetes management through technology and digital health tools, a critical need in the face of the growing diabetes burden in Pakistan.
Professor Dr. Peter Schwarz, President of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), delivered a keynote address highlighting the global perspective on digital diabetes care. Other distinguished speakers included Professor Dr. Muhammad Hassanein (UAE), who emphasised patient-centred digital strategies, and Dr. Amit Kumar (India), who shared his expertise on AI-based diabetes monitoring.
The conference also featured leading national experts, including Dr. Faseh Hashmi (Cardiologist), Dr. Sadiq Memon (Gastroenterologist), Dr. Imran Idrees (Urologist), Dr. Muhammad Saleem (Endocrinologist), Dr. Nissa (gynaecologist), and business leader Mr. Shan Sehgal from Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders. Together, they contributed valuable perspectives on the intersection of diabetes, technology, and multidisciplinary healthcare.
