Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup split yellow moong dal (lentils)
- 1 small onion (chopped finely)
- 1 small tomato who is chopped finely as well
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- Add salt according to your taste
- 1 tablespoon oil just for the stir
- Coriander leaves always for garnishing
Instructions:
- Clean the moong dal and soak in water for about 30 minutes.
- Starting in the cooker or deep pan. Add cumin seeds and also the mustard seeds. Wait for them to splutter.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown deepness.
- Adding the ginger-garlic paste and continuing the sauté for a minute more.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes and they can be cooked until they’re soft now.
- Also adding turmeric powder and salt to the whole mix.
- Drain the soaked moong dal then add to the pan alongside with the rolled oats. Don’t forget to always stir well.
- Increasing the water based on the consensus we desire and pressure cook for 2 whistles or cook in a pan until oats and dal are both cooked thoroughly.
- Garnish Fresh coriander leaves and then serve of course in hot!
